Civil Society and Industry Representatives Agree on Good Overseas Practices

The final report from the National Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Canadian Extractive Industry in Developing Countries will be released at a press conference on Thursday, March 29 at 10:00 am.

The final report was jointly written by an Advisory Group that included representatives from civil society and industry. The report presents a set of consensus-based recommendations for a framework of good conduct for Canadian mining, oil and gas companies operating in developing countries.

The multi-stakeholder roundtable process and the final report are the first of their kind in the world. The implementation of the resulting recommendations will position Canada as a global leader on Corporate Social Responsibility with respect to the extractive industry.
